| "There once was
a girl with a curl in the middle of her forehead. When she was good she
was very, very good, but when she was bad she was better!" -- Mae West Getting better and better! Marian Heller, performing "Girl with a Curl" at Don't Tell Mama, 343 West 46th Street (Restaurant Row), New York City, September 19, 2003, 6 pm, September 25, 8:30 pm and Oct. 7, 8:30 pm. Lina Koutrakos, Director, Rick Jenson, Musical Director. Join the "Girl with a Curl" Team! "What's in it for me?" Fun! Great opportunity to meet potential dates at my shows. A team party at which you will meet some of the most incredibly wonderful people in the world. Link to your website from mine, and effusive thanks and updates on the "team" page on my website, www.marianheller.net If there's another way you'd love for me to thank you, just say the word! "How can I help?" The plan is to let the world know about the show, by e-mail and Internet, word of mouth, and plastering the town with fliers, so that everyone can come and have a great time. It'll be loads of fun for the whole team! There are SO many ways to get involved; pick what you'd enjoy or offer anything else your heart desires. Come see the show! Bring a friend or two or a half dozen the more, the merrier! Check out my website - Sign up to be on my mailing list! Ask me about my web designer; she's awesome! Offer ideas for making it even better. Refer me to a great tailor (preferably pretty inexpensive) to custom fit my drop dead gorgeous outfit. Scout out places that offer discount show tickets (e.g. Audience Extras, TM Insider, Play to Play, and Working Advantage) and ask them if they'll offer discounts to my show. Go with me to sing in piano bars! It's scary as hell alone; it's great fun with friends! Organize my mailing list - some of it's already typed into an excel spreadsheet, some is still in the folder and on pieces of paper. Extra bonus...merge and print labels! Help with some facet of flier and postcard production share artwork ideas, take a digital photo of me or scan one I already have, review the design, suggest great printers, work with the printer, and hold my hand while I take actions! Attend the "postcard mailing party" one month before the first show. Hang a flier at work: by the water cooler, bulletin board, inside the loo, outside your cube or office door. Pass out fliers and/or postcards to your friends and colleagues, strangers at crosswalks, etc. Post them on community bulletin boards and local shops in your neighborhood. Prepare an E-invite for those not on the web site mailing list: I've never done this but I've received them. They're cool! We can use E-invites for team parties too! E-mail blasts: I'll be sending out a blast or two to MAC members and the mailing list from my web site. Ask folks if they'd like to be added to the list, and pass along their names or turn them on to my site! Find inexpensive or free publicity opportunities: conversations with friends and acquaintances; community sections of your local neighborhood papers; cabaret or entertainment web sites; friends who are writers and could feature me in articles, etc. Be my hair or makeup artist/consultant (I love false eyelashes but can't do 'em myself). Help with fundraising. Coordinate a future benefit performance. Provide encouragement, flowers, footrubs, massage, hugs, and laughs. Be the team manager.
